COVID-19 Update: A Message to Our Clients and Partners
Inside and Out Property Inspectors is closely monitoring the local, state, federal and CDC guidelines and developments regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus. While we are still open for business, we are taking proactive measures to support the health and welfare of our clients, employees and the communities where we operate and serve.
These are just some of the steps we’ve taken:
- Additional training through our associations on the COVID-19 virus
- Inspectors will wear latex gloves and continue to wear shoe booties as usual.
- Inspectors will use disinfecting wipes or cleaner on any surfaces in the home that they came into contact with during the inspection.
During this time, we respectfully ask our clients and their agents not to attend the inspection to comply with social distancing orders. As a member of NEFAR we will be able to access the property without assistance.
At the end of the inspection, we’ll conduct a video conference or phone call to go over our findings and answer any questions you may have.
If you insist on attending the inspection, we require that only the clients and agent attend. No family members, contractors, or other parties may be present. We ask that anyone attending practices proper social distancing and refrains from touching anything in the home. Anyone showing signs of illness may not attend.
We are also asking sellers to leave if they are present. To reduce any inconvenience, all of our inspections will be conducted by two inspectors instead of just one. This will cut back on the amount of time it takes for the inspection to be completed. With a team inspection, the average duration for a 2,000 – 2,500 sq ft house is about 1.5 hours as opposed to the typical 3 or 4 hours.
Inside and Out Property Inspectors will continue to monitor this dynamic situation and will continue to follow the guidance provided by the CDC and governmental authorities to help ensure everyone’s safety.
