Mobile Home Tie Down Inspection (HUD)

What is a Manufactured Home Foundation Certification Inspection?

Also commonly referred to as a “HUD” Inspection

A Manufactured Home Certification Inspection, also known as a HUD Inspection, is a structural inspection to confirm the following:

  • The MFD home is permanently tied down.
  • The home will not float off the piers or foundation.
  • The drainage of the home will not flood the crawlspace or basement.

Why Do I Need A Manufactured Home Foundation Certification Inspection?

The Department of Housing and Urban Development, more commonly known as HUD, sets strict standards for the design, construction, and installation of manufactured homes to assure the quality, durability, safety, and affordability of manufactured homes.

HUD prohibits selling, leasing, or offering for sale or lease, homes that do not meet the standards. Civil and criminal penalties may be sought for violations.
